System Has Crashed

unfortunately my system has crashed. When I switch on you can hear a "clicking" noise and a noise from the cd rom drive. However both the green and blue lights are staying on and it is a blank screen. You cannot hear the fan or the hard drive running. A message comes up then disappears - Diagnostic check...no signal...check input cable.
