Marriage Equality in Massachusetts
Celebrate the anniversary of marriage equality in Massachusetts May 17 marks the second anniversary of marriage equality in Massachusetts. Join us for a celebration of the Supreme Judicial Court’s landmark ruling in Goodridge v. Dept. of Public Health, which held that exclusion of same-sex couples from civil marriage was unconstitutional under the equality and liberty provisions of the Massachusetts Constitution. Mary Bonauto, the plaintiffs’ counsel, will be a featured speaker and provide her insights on Goodridge and the struggle for equality for same-sex partners.
