Hotel Complaint

The hotel is undergoing a refurbishment which we were not informed about. All areas advertised/pictured on the site were inaccessible. Our room was a dingey groundfloor one in amongst the service areas with privacy glass on all windows i.e. no view to the outside. The bathroom lights were not all working and the shower curtain had two good rings with the rest broken. The room smelled damp and musty and was certainly not a 4*. The staff were oblivious to my presence, I was asked the same question four times during check-in. All in all my wifes' birthday was ruined by the whole tawdry experience.
