Two Problems

Ok - it seems that there are two problems here:

1. A problem where you do not see anything at all on the screen, and get an error selecting other buttons. This is the problem that may be fixed by installing Rollup 2 - I would like as much reports as possible on this.

2. A problem where you get the welcome page even though you have items in your collection. I would like to remote assist people having this problem to debug it.

Library -vs- Internet

Conducting research online is different from conducting research in a traditional library in several ways. The first to come to my mind is that there is more foot work involved in traditional research in a library. You need to go up and down aisles and checking the card catalog, then returning to your table to page through multiple volumes in search of one simple fact. Whereas on the internet you simply go to a search engine, key in your topic and hit search. Credible information can be difficult to find. However, on the internet you can be sure to get the most up to date information on your topic. Educational sites are sometimes updated daily with current information. Libraries, on the other hand tend to have dated resources that are sometimes decades old.

Join us for a celebration of the Supreme Judicial Court’s landmark ruling in Goodridge v. Dept. of Public Health, which held that exclusion of same-sex couples from civil marriage was unconstitutional under the equality and liberty provisions of the Massachusetts Constitution. Mary Bonauto, the plaintiffs’ counsel, will be a featured speaker and provide her insights on Goodridge and the struggle for equality for same-sex partners.
